Drop Point review — Is Drop Point a Scam?

Is Drop Point a scam? How does it work and why does it get so many negative reviews?

This drop point review will cover everything you need to know about this app so you can decide whether you want to use them or not.

What is Drop Point and How Does it Work?

Drop point is a product research tool for AliExpress dropshipping.

Drop Point has three different features:

Winning Ali Products

drop point review - winning AliExpress products tab

In this tab, drop point publishes live winning products from AliExpress.

New products are dropped daily and a button allows you to view them directly on AliExpress.

Very simple but effective, you pay $5 and get to see winning products.

That’s a steal.

Live Advertisement Filter

drop point review - Live advertisement filter tab

In this tab, drop point shows live advertisement of dropshipping products.

You can filter ads by location, keywords, amount of views, engagement, and more!

This is a very simple but effective way to find winning facebook ads.

The AD itself will give you an idea of who their target audience is and how they react but also what kind of ad works well for this audience.

The store will show you what their product page, title and description looks like which will give you an idea of how you can set up yours.

Winning Advertisement

drop point review - Winning advertisements tab

This tab allows you to find winning advertisements.

Just like every other tab, drop point updates this tab daily.

You can filter for recent ads but also winning ads by year.

For example, they can show you winning ads from 2019, 2018 all the way down to 2015.

This is good for your research as it gives you an idea of what kind of advertisements worked well in the past.

But also winning products tend to come back every now and then so you can even try out some of the previous winning products found in this tab!

All in all, for $5 a month, the site offers a lot of value to your dropshipping product, advertisement and competitor research.

How Much Does Drop Point Cost?

Drop point has a free and paid plan available.

With the free plan, you can still access tabs but you will be one week behind to paid users and have limited info.

The free plan is a good way to get familiar with drop point and see if you’d be willing to pay for their service.

The paid plan for drop point is available for just $5 a month.

This is very affordable compared to many alternatives out there.

Why does drop point have so many negative reviews?

Many people are angry because drop point while very cheap, provides a subpar customer service.

If you’ve been dropshipping through apps like Shopify and Oberlo you know their support is amazing and always available to help you out.

This is not the case with drop point.

They reply very slowly and when they do, they can sound rude and unprofessional.

Many drop point users leave bad reviews because they have issues with cancelling the subscription

When you subscribe for one month and unsubscribe right away (what many people do) you instantly lose access to the drop point dashboard.

This is definitely cause for complaint and proves they are out for your money and not to provide a proper service.

Is Drop Point a Scam?

Clearly, drop point provides a less than ideal customer service experience.

But at 5$ a month, you should also expect to get what you pay for.

If you consider transaction fees, and the fact they have to pay 40% to their affiliates, drop point doesn’t make a whole lot of money from this service per customer.

This means they are focussing on quantity instead of quality.

Personally, I would prefer they increase their pricing and invest in better customer service.

I wouldn’t say they are a scam, because their service does work and does provide value.

But the way they operate their business is a little bit shady and I can understand where the negative reviews are coming from.

What’s Good About Drop Point

  • Super cheap at just $5/mo
  • Daily winning products
  • Simple app and easy to use
  • Good for beginners

What’s Bad About Drop Point

  • Poor customer service
  • You lose access instantly when you cancel your subscription

Drop Point Review Summary

So should you get drop point?

Considering the number of features available on drop point for just 5$, I can only recommend the app.

If you don’t already have a good product research method, Drop Point will be providing a lot of value to you for a very small price.

But as I clearly pointed out in this drop point review, they do have some faults such as customer service and how they handle cancellations.

If you do end up using it, keep in mind that you cannot cancel the subscription beforehand or you will lose access.

And if you cancel too late, you might be charged for the next period as well.

If you value customer service and good business practice, you should probably stay away from drop point.

Otherwise, it’s a good dropshipping product research tool that competes with a lot of other (more expensive) apps such as EcomHunt, AliShark, AdSpy, and more.

If you’re really strapped for cash and don’t want to use drop point, you can check out my free product research method with the AliExpress Dropshipping Center.
