How to automatically moderate comments on Facebook ads

We’ve all been there, one day you wake up and there’s a bunch of comments under your brand new dropshipping facebook ad “this company is a scam”, “this company is dropshipping”, “found it on Aliexpress/wish for cheaper”, the list goes on.

This is a frustrating thing and happens to dropshippers every single day. It ruins your social proof and your conversions. I see these comments on dropshipping ads every single day and just think to myself “why haven’t they turned on comment moderation yet?”

I guess they don’t know it exists!

But yes, yes you can filter out negative comments on Facebook ads. Better yet, it’s super easy.

Automatically filter out negative comments on your facebook ads

All you have to do to moderate your facebook comments is to ban certain words or sentences from your facebook page. Here’s how:

Step 1: Head over to your store’s facebook page and go to the settings. You’ll land on the general tab of your page settings and on the right side you should see a row that says “Page Moderation”.

Step 2: Click on edit and add the words you want to ban from your facebook ads comment section.

That’s it! Quick and easy.

Which words should you add to the list?

There are some obvious comments such as “Aliexpress, Alibaba, Scam and fraud” that you definitely don’t want to allow under your facebook ads but what are the others?

Well it would be wise for you to also remove comments that mention the quality of the product or where their delivery currently is. You really don’t want a comment that says “where’s my package” People will think you’re fake and this will hurt your sales.

Other words that you shouldn’t allow are profanity words, hate speech and spam.

To make it easy for your here’s a list of all the words we use to moderate our comment sections, just copy and paste them into your comment moderation section!

Facebook only allows you to upload .CSV files anymore so you’ll have to export the file to a .CSV Here’s how:

Why should you moderate your Facebook ads comments

Social proof is very important when it comes to selling online, especially dropshipping where some stores (especially newer one) tend to look cheap.

People are used to seeing Facebook ads by now and can quickly spot if a company is genuine or not by taking a quick peek at the comment section.

Dropshipping comment sections are often flooded with messages like “where’s my order” or “This product is from Aliexpress”. You really don’t want this as this will kill your conversion rates.

On top of that, if you don’t reply to these comments, it will look like you’re not a legit company who has someone to manage their facebook posts. You don’t want this, do you?

Social proof is incredibly important in eCommerce and dropshipping and you only want positive comments to show up. Positive social proof will encourage others to buy the product as well or tag their friends.
