Seller Pulse Review – The Best Dropshipping Research Tool?

As dropshippers, naturally we have to test out every single product research tool we can get our hands on. So that’s what we’re doing in this seller pulse review. We’ve tested Seller Pulse and compared it to its closest competitors such as Ecomhunt and SellTheTrend.

What is Seller Pulse and what does it do

Seller Pulse is a product research tool for both Aliexpress and Amazon. It’s advertised as a product that can find winning dropshipping products for you.

In my review of Seller Pulse, I’ve found that Seller Pulse works and feels a bit like an advanced version of the Aliexpress Dropshipping Center.

Exactly like the Aliexpress Dropshipping Center, this tool takes their info directly from Aliexpress but that’s not all. Where Aliexpress Dropshipping Center is limited to just showing you which products are performing well, Seller Pulse also shows you exactly which stores are selling the product, lets you “track” a certain product, it’s trend history, and more.

Seller Pulse also provides superior filtering functions compared to the dropshipping center such as filtering by video only, filtering by amount of orders in a certain time span and more.

If you want to check out the full functionality of Seller Pulse you should check out their quick  demo video on youtube:

Product Research with Seller Pulse

Doing product research with Seller Pulse is very simple and straight forward.

First you’ll want to adjust the filters to your liking. Here, you can decide between all categories or pick a certain niche if you already know which niche you want to sell in.

Next, you can pick a price point and set a minimum amount of orders. I always put this at 1000 to make sure I don’t get shown any poor products. If you want you can also set a minimum amount of feedback you want on the product.

Lastly, you can filter by days. What I tend to do is filter by 7 days and set a minimum orders of 700 to ensure I only get shown products that are doing very well (minimum 100 orders a day).

Next, you want to hit search. You’ll now get a huge list of potential products you can review.

Here you can “track” certain products you like, check the product history and even check which stores are currently selling the product.

Here you can view in-depth details on the shown products such as the order history and you can do some competitor research by visiting the stores that already sell the product.

You can use the track button to track products you’re interested in.

That’s it! That’s how you can find winning dropshipping products with Seller Pulse. Seller Pulse is very simple to use and provides a very straight forward but good way of researching dropshipping products.

Seller Pulse vs EcomHunt

Both Seller Pulse and EcomHunt focus primarily on dropshipping product research. However, they use different approaches in doing so. While EcomHunt is a dropshipping product research tool that shows you exactly which products are ‘winners’, with Seller Pulse you have to look for them yourself.

With EcomHunt the products shown are hand-picked (and thus researched) by a professional team. With Seller Pulse, you have to do your own research in finding winning products.

Both come with pros and cons. While Ecomhunt is more beginner friendly, if you do your own research as you would with seller pulse, you have a better chance of ending up with an unsaturated product.

With ecomhunt, everyone can see these ‘winning’ products that they pick out and use them in their dropshipping store, this can quickly lead to saturation.

On EcomHunt, you also get a lot of interesting information such as:

  • Profit margin
  • Saturation inspector (how many stores are selling the product)
  • FB ads for this product
  • Video example
  • Facebook targeting

These are all very helpful, especially to beginner dropshippers that don’t know how to look for this data themselves.

Price wise: Seller Pulse costs $40/mo while Ecomhunt costs $29/mo.

When it comes to seller pulse vs ecomhunt, I recommend ecomhunt to beginner dropshippers whereas I believe more advanced dropshippers would benefit more from using seller pulse.

Seller Pulse vs SellTheTrend

SellTheTrend is an all-around dropshipping app that comes at the same price as Seller Pulse: $40 per month.

However, SellTheTrend doesn’t just focus on product research, they also let you import the products to your store, fulfil through their app and you can even create video ads inside of the app.

Functionality wise, sellthetrend beats out all of its competitors. But does it beat out Seller Pulse on product research?

SellTheTrend gives you almost identical filtering options such as on seller pulse but you get more data per product.

While Seller Pulse shows you exactly what stores are selling the product, the product trend history and more, sellthetrend does all that but also shows you the facebook targeting options, a product video, the total sales of the product, profit margin and more.

All in all, sellthetrend feels like a more complete app than seller pulse, for the same price.

Seller Pulse Free Alternative

Having mentioned before that Seller Pulse feels like the Aliexpress Dropshipping Center, I want to point out that you can always use the Aliexpress Dropshipping Center as a free alternative to seller pulse.

With the dropshipping center (which is built-in to Aliexpress) you can find the current best-selling products on Aliexpress. This is completely free and a great way to do dropshipping product research if you’re on a tight budget.

While Seller Pulse has some advanced filtering options and more info about the product history, trends and competitors, you can easily find that stuff out yourself.

For example, if you want to find competitors for a certain product say a ‘posture brace’ you can easily do so by typing in the query: ‘Posture brace + Shopify’ into google. This will bring up every single Shopify store that is currently selling the posture brace.

So if you’re on a tight budget, I recommend you check out the Aliexpress dropshipping center instead.

My thoughts on Seller Pulse

Seller Pulse is definitely a very powerful product research tool that can help any dropshipper find winning products to sell. It’s worth the money if you’re serious about dropshipping, just 2 sales per month will already make back the money you invested.

You also don’t need to pay for Seller Pulse monthly, you can just use the product research tool to find you winning products and cancel the subscription once you have.

If you’re on a tight budget, you can instead use the Aliexpress Dropshipper Center completely for free.

For beginner dropshippers, I think tools such as ecomhunt and sellthetrend might be easier to use. Sellthetrend provides many tools on top of product research and ecomhunt has handpicked products which makes it very easy for new dropshippers to get started.

Hopefully, this seller pulse review answered some of the questions you may have had about the tool, if it didn’t, you can always leave them below and I’ll try to answer them ASAP.
